Aug 28, 2025, 6:11 PM this tune arrived on my Facebook inbox. More driving maniac music from Greg Walsh’s New Ghosts. A little dash of Mott the Hoople circa Ariel Bender days, superb drumming and guitar wall of sound, clocking in at 3:57 it feels much shorter and poppier. Very radio friendly.

Greg’s essay on the song: A genuine account of a dance that took place at Marblehead High School many years ago. Even the nicknames of the bullies were not changed to protect the innocent! (Interestingly, I have become somewhat friends with one of them now).
While the evening itself was filled with a mix of angst alongside enjoyable and less enjoyable moments, the process of creating the video through AI took some unforeseen directions.
Photos and videos were proposed in the storyboards by the lyrics, and some were quite impressive. For those that did not align, I was able to revise the scene, and together it evolved into a narrative worth sharing. In general, the video may convey a more optimistic tone than my actual experience, yet it effectively narrates the story while reinterpreting it for the present day.
It was a good night hanging with my friends, partying outdoors and watching the band that included Marblehead rock royalty Gary Dodd, Tom Neely, Rick Broughton, and Tom Bull!
Years later, best friend Mark Rockower and I got to play in a band with Dodd and Neely.
